Downtown spots welcome River Bank Run traffic

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - As the River Bank Run returns to its May date, it's kicking off a summer that business owners hope will resemble pre-pandemic times.
You could feel it in the air this week. That warm weather not only has flowers and trees popping, it also has people venturing out and returning to downtown Grand Rapids.
"We think it's going to be great, especially with the weather turning like this. People love to be outside," said Jim Lynch, owner of House of Wine on Monroe Center.
Lynch said he and his staff are ready for a return to normal.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - As thousands of runners fill the streets of downtown Grand Rapids Saturday, there is one person who will be missed.
“I'm running for Annabelle,” said Matt Hop, an angel with myTEAM TRIUMPH. “I want to give her one last ride and carry her spirit through the race.”
Annabelle was a captain, or an athlete with a disability, who participated in races thanks to the help of myTEAM TRIUMPH angels - or runner assistants - like Hop.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - As runners take to the streets today in the 45th annual Amway River Bank Run , many are running with purpose.
In celebration of it's 45th year, the Amway River Bank Run has partnered with five charities around West Michigan to help raise funds and spread awareness about each organization.
For many of the runners, running for a charity partner helps give them drive and puts passion behind the race.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - It's how Grand Rapids celebrates spring: The Amway River Bank Run.
The 45th annual race is today. It was last held in October , rescheduled in deference to the pandemic, and was virtual only in 2020. This year, it returns to its rightful spot on the second Saturday of May.
