  • Police look for suspects in Kzoo shooting

    KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Authorities say a Kalamazoo resident is expected to survive after being shot.
    Officers were patrolling in the area of E. Main Street and Sherwood Avenue around 9:15 p.m. Wednesday when they heard a series of gunshots.
    While trying to find the source of the gunfire, officers found a victim on Bridge Street, according to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety.
    Officers say the injuries were not life-threatening. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, police say.

    One dead in Leonard Street shooting

    GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Officers with the Grand Rapids Police Department were dispatched to the 1100 block of Leonard St NE around 2 a.m. Thursday to investigate a reported shooting.
    Upon arrival officers located a 17 year old male who had been shot. Officers attempted first-aid and the victim was transported to an area hospital. The victim was pronounced dead shortly after.
    The shooting is still under investigation and GRPD does not have any information on suspects at this time.
