• Curtis out of prison after serving 7 years for sex assaults

    GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Chad Curtis, the Major League Baseball player who was convicted of sexually assaulting teens girls, is out of prison.
    Curtis, 52, was released in September after serving his minimum sentence of seven years.
    Reached at his house Sunday, Curtis told News 8 was "trying to be a productive person."
    He was convicted in 2013 of sexually assaulting four girls at Lakewood High School, where he was working as a part-time weight trainer, in 2011 and 2012.

    GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - A 14-year-old Grand Rapids girl named Honestie has passed away due to complications from COVID-19, her family says via a GoFundMe page set up to support her family.
    It all began on Honesty's 14th birthday, Monday, Nov. 9.
    According to her grandmother - Alisa Niemeyer - who helped orgainze the GoFundMe, Honestie was taken to Helen DeVos Children's Hospital where she tested positive for COVID-19 and was later sent home. Later that day, Honestie was rushed back to the hospital and admitted to the ICU.
