Microsoft Desperately Wants You To Use Edge On Windows 11

Some Windows 11 users are complaining that their PC is automatically adding the Microsoft Edge icon to the desktop despite removing it manually. Microsoft Edge is the default web browser on Windows 11, having replaced the reviled Internet Explorer in Windows 10. The original version of the browser was based on Microsoft's EdgeHTML engine, but the company has since switched to Chromium - the open-source software that underpins Google Chrome and many other leading web browsers like Opera, Vivaldi, Brave, and more.

Microsoft is reportedly working on a major revamp of its File Explorer app in Windows 11. The news comes a few months after the company finally rolled out a tabbed interface for File Explorer following years of demand from Windows users. The company announced the feature last April, touting it as one of the biggest improvements to File Explorer in years. However, the update was only released to the stable channel in October. Microsoft also rolled out many other new features to Windows 11 as part of the 22H2 update.
